I love trees. The entire wall in my workroom that I face while working is covered in pictures of trees! So, I'd like to share pictures of unique or special trees with you every month.
The 1st one is right here in Texas and it is called simply 'the Big Tree'. This tree is over 1,000 years old and is probably the oldest and largest tree in Texas. It is a Live Oak tree located Just outside of Rockport, Texas.
After managing to survive centuries of natural disasters ( not to mention lumberjacks and Civil War battles), the Big Tree now needs help to live through the long drought in Texas. Volunteer firefighters have been watering it in hopes that it can be saved.
